On December 1st 2011 Crossley Homes launched a charity campaign in conjunction with the Rowan House – a not for profit emergency woman’s shelter serving the Foothills region of Alberta. The goal of the campaign was to get 2,000 people to “Like” Crossley Homes’ Facebook page and in turn Jim and Anne Crossley were going to donate $2,000 to the Rowan House.
A few days before the campaign ended Anne Crossley received a telephone call from Crossley’s cribber, Mike Funk of J.L. Funk. Mike told Anne that he wanted to contribute to the campaign and donate $500! Crossley Homes was thrilled with Mike’s thoughtful generosity and giving selfless attitude.
On Friday January 13th Jim and Anne Crossley met Mike Funk and the Rowan House’s representative, Sherrie, at the construction site of the new Rowan House in High River, Alberta. There they each handed Sherrie their donations totalling $2,500 towards the Rowan House. After a few pictures Sherrie took everyone on a tour of the new facility currently under construction.
The new Rowan house is slated to be complete by May 2012. It will feature 7 bedrooms (24 beds), a kitchen, children’s play area, a resource center, and private counselling rooms. This fabulous facility will be able to accommodate 5 more woman and many more children than the current facility. But, donations are still needed to complete and furnish the new home.
